The smell of cabbage, roast hare and potato dumplings is in the air. Stewed cherries are also there. The bowls are on the table, the napkins are in their rings. It’s time for the family meal. The food culture includes the entire cultural environment of the human diet and therefore the decoration and table manners, rituals and ceremonies, or even regional specialties and thus cultural identification. Five people from different regions of Germany remember their childhood family dinners.
